<sub>same character in this [link] and this [link] , I completely forgot about her until I looked through my sketchbook the other day and found the sketches for this (I'd actually already compiled them into a file back in december, I just never got around to doing the lines).

oh, and just cause someone brought it up on one of the other pictures of her, yes her design is influenced by the robot designs and The Great Clock from Ratchet and Clank, she actually started out as a really bad fan-character (it was intentionally bad, I tried to shove as many ties to things in as I could).

The gear shapes in her head and torso should have an actual mechanism in them...but I'm too lazy to draw it in right now and the bolt on her foot in the side view is the wrong colour...it should be blue...that's really going to bug the crap out of me until I fix it...

Personality:Astrid can come off as very harsh, unforgiving and generally rude, However she is genuinely caring to those close to her. She stays neutral around most, but if she feels they are trying to get something out of her or are getting in her way she will go back to being rude. She appreciates honesty and will make more of an effort to get to know those who see through or make note of her facade.
Details:She loves to fix and create machinery of all kinds, and for the most part doesn't like to be disturbed while she works, She's been known to on occasion work on large projects for free when the concept interests her enough. Outside of work she mainly practices fighting and can quite competently hold herself in a fight, she does this out of somewhat paranoia after several contracts backfired. Astrid tries to keep neutral ground and doesn't discriminate with clients, she will happily work for whoever can give her an interesting task or the right payment, she only cares about the creation, not what it will be used for. A lot of the time she is very direct when talking, but always keeps a 'soft' neutral tone even when angry, she can also be a bit cryptic or hold details when she is unsure of the person or wants them to figure it out.

Gears:Astrid has exposed gears on her head and torso that are protected by a layer of glass, she enjoys looking at how mechanisms like that work. More info and refs here: [link]

Arm Blades: They are made of a plasma like material and can flow either loosely or can be hardened, She usually keeps them retracted.When protracted and loose they resemble long floppy sleeves. She can instantly stiffen them and use them as blades, The gold edge is very sharp while the plasma edge is hot. The barrels of her forearm can rotate as well, but she usually keeps the blade slot on the outer edge.

Neon Panels:Her glowing neon areas change colour to show how she is running. Generally she will glow blue which indicates that she's running normally. When she glows red it indicates overheating of some kind, this can be triggered by emotional outbursts such as fear, embarrassment, shock and anger or by rapid movement for an extended amount of time. A yellow glow means she is running very slow, she is either low on energy or resting.

Abilities:-----
Plasma Attack: She can create plasma and electricity with her palms, this can either be used as a continuous stream for welding or channeled into a ball that can be thrown.

Hover/Fly: As with her hands she can create energy with her soles, however she uses this to fly around. It can be useful in a fight or when working on a large scale project.

Blade Attack:As mentioned above she can protract blades from her forearms, they can be used like a shield or sword in a fight, or to cut materials when working.

Circuit Music:This is more of a novelty really, the exposed circuit on her face only controls alarm sounds that she never needs, when anything metal (like her fingers) interrupts the circuit it makes various sounds. She makes songs with it when she gets bored or needs to cheer herself or someone else up.

Instant Repair/Light Tether(not shown): Astrid can instantly grab nearby materials with a light tether that is emitted from her palm, it doesn't matter whether they are huge slabs or small particles. She can then use them to rapidly repair or create objects by fusing them with other materials, this process is very draining so she tends not to use it much unless she has a continuous power source. The light tether by itself however is not as draining. It has the appearance of an orb surrounding the object being tethered with a very faint 'rope' leading to her palm.
