Bettilena and Ace by chicinlicin Bettilena and Ace by chicinlicin
You can see slightly different versions of them here: [link]

Some little Copic and Prismacolor drawings I made for =Lurking-Leanne a couple of weeks ago, Her OC Bettilena and Ace Hardlight from Ratchet and Clank (each on their own 5X5″ card).

I'd forgotten how much I like colouring with copics :XD: I'll have to make some more little cards like these~ I also tried using prismacolors for the lines, and I think I like that more than using a fineliner ^^; More of a reason to do more~:dummy: Ooh! and now I know how to get slightly better scans of stuff as well~:la:

...also that icon thingy on Ace's chest sort of looks like a simplified Australia from some angles and now I can't unsee it :stare:...at least I think it does >_>

Yey :dummy: I'm glad to see these up on DA now XD
I'm also sorry for being a bit late with commenting here, I've been away for about a week & a half with no way to get online ^^; but I'm back now. And excited XD
Like I said before, I do like these a lot ^^ Betty looks fantastic in your style, beautiful traditional colouring on her too, especially with the details (which you got down right!) and even Ace is looking good :la: neat to see his badie DreadZone self in your style :XD:
So yeah, thanks a lot again for these giftarts!! I love them 8D

Yay~:dummy: I eventually got them to scan in sort of okay :XD:
Oh yeah, have they come in the mail yet? I sent them off last monday...then I saw you were away and kinda freaked out cause I didn't know how long it would take for them to get to you ; _____ ;
Thank you :) heh, usually I like to change around character design bits to fit with how I draw, decided not to this time though cause I wanted to get some practice with forms and edges and doing more detailed traditional stuff :meow: I was going to colour each of their glowing bits with glow-in-the-dark paint, but the colour in the paint I've got is too weak so I thought it'd look weird ^^;
Thanks again, and no problem~

But yeah, I can understand the problem with space D: I only just bought the shelf last year and it's already full of stuff :noes:

Yup :iconorzplz: turns out all I had to do was put some black paper behind it to give a contrast point :| though that only seems to work with things that don't have black in them...I should probably be taking multiple scans, one with and one without ^^;

Interesting. I will have to remember that for when people ask. Although that is a big problem as most outlines on paper are usually done in black ^^;

I think it's a matter of knowing how your scanner scans and the picture you're dealing with ^^; but it is good to know that having some contrast can make it better :meow: Just then I tried scanning in a picture of mine that has a lot of colour, white areas, and heavy black lines, In a case like that the black paper and white paper ended up fairly the same. Oddly enough using some neutral blue or green seemed to work better :XD: while using red gave something in between :shrug: Maybe a mid-grey would work best...
