Jelly Bridge Walkthrough by chicinlicin Jelly Bridge Walkthrough by chicinlicin
edit: please ignore the laziness of my comments ^^; i should really put some proper text in instead of my lazy whatevers...
-------
yorp, walkthough of

sorry for saving it as a GIF and making it low quality ^^; i just wanted it to have that transition image as the icon :meow: sorry for putting text over it too...and that the spelling is probably wrong everywhere :XD:

...probably don't really need the text there anyway >_> it's pretty repetitive...

So basically you slap everything together, and it STILL ends up being twice as good as anything I draw....

if by 'slap together' you mean spend 3 days straight sitting at a computer :XD: i was really lazy with the comments so it kinda makes it seem effortless when i spent quite a lot of time on it ^^; don't compare yourself to others ; _ ;

ah, sorry, I realized after I posted that it could come off as insulting
It's just that a few of your comments are along the lines of 'oh, I usually don't bother planning' so it was a little worrying ^^'

heh it's okay ^^; it's understanding that this would come off as slack because i made the walkthrough a week or so after actually making the picture and i didn't know what to say. with the not bothering to plan stuff, i only did colour and shape plans in this because the image actually has a proper background, i'll always plan out colours to make sure that's all right but i don't usually have a set background and such till the end cause i never know what to do :XD: that's what i mean by that, i'll always plan, but i went over the top with the planning in this.

Wow, that's really cool! I wish I could make better use of the pentool like that so I could get actually-smooth lines more often, but GIMP's implementation of it is pretty raw and not as WYSIWYG as you'd like to hope. Actually I think this looks just fine for being a GIF... I can see a little bit of dithering, but it doesn't detract from what it's meant to be(a walkthrough), and I did like seeing the animation in the thumbnail. =) I might have to try some of these ideas, if I can get a decent grasp on how many layers I can make use of without tanking my RAM. I also need to find out how to pick good flat-colors for the base, I always seem to be too bright or too dark, and yet a gray middletone doesn't usually look right. :c

thanks :) i've never used GIMP, from what you've said and looking at turotials the GIMP pen tool doesn't seem to be as good as the photoshop one...looks easier to use though :XD:
ahh that's good, i was worried that the dithering would show up too much. i wish you still had the option to set other images as the thumbnail for tutorials...
heh, i'm not quite sure how i'm able to make a picture and not have my laptop slow down or have the program freak out ^^; i use so many layers it's ridiculous
yeah it's hard to pick good base colours sometimes, it's not always bad to go for greyish or midtone colours, have a shot at making something super bright and saturated :dummy:
